LIF Measurements

Experiments have been performed in the School of Chemistry in which LIF measurements of NS, NO and sulphur dioxide have been made in the low pressure flat flame burner. The following tables summarises the experimental conditions and shows the measured data along with the simulated profiles.

In flames 4 to 10, NO was observed at a fixed height of 25mm above the burner surface, and the effect on the NO LIF signal caused by the addition of sulphur dioxide was measured, giving the following results for flames 4,5&6, 7&8 and 9&10
